Steering Column Trim Covers - Assemble - Off Vehicle (Manual Tilt, Column Shift)





1. If necessary, install the steering column closeout trim cover to the upper trim cover.





2. Install the upper trim cover (1).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install 1 pan head tapping screw (2) to the upper trim cover (1).
^ Tighten the pan head tapping screw to 1.5 Nm (13 inch lbs.).





Important: The shift lever seal must seat in the trim cover.

4. Install the lower trim cover (2) onto the steering column.
5. Attach the steering column closeout trim cover (1) to the lower trim cover (2).
6. Install 2 pan head tapping screws (3) to the lower trim cover (2).
^ Tighten the pan head tapping screws to 3 Nm (27 inch lbs.).





7. Install the necessary wire harness straps.
8. Install the steering column into the vehicle.
9. Install the steering wheel onto the steering column.
10. Enable the inflatable restraint steering wheel module.
