Suction Hose Replacement
TOOLS REQUIREDJ 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Recover the refrigerant from the system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
2. Remove the suction hose retaining nut from the accumulator.
3. Remove the suction hose from the accumulator.
4. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
5. Remove the front air deflector.
6. Disconnect the suction hose nut (2).
7. Remove the suction hose (1).
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
IMPORTANT: Inspect the sealing washers for damage. Replace the sealing washers that show any signs of damage.
Sealing washers do not require lubrication.
1. Install the suction hose (1).
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Connect the suction hose (1) to the compressor.
3. Install the suction hose nut (2) to the compressor.
Tighten
Tighten the suction hose nut to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).
4. Lower the vehicle.
5. Install the suction hose to the accumulator.
6. Install the suction hose nut.
7. Install the suction hose nut to the accumulator.
Tighten
Tighten the suction hose to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).
8. Recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
9. Leak test the fittings of the repaired or reinstalled component using J 39400.
10. Install the front air deflector.
