Compartment Lid Replacement - Rear

Removal Procedure

1. Open the rear compartment lid.
2. Remove the rear compartment lid trim panel. Refer to Compartment Lid Trim Replacement - Rear (Compartment Lid Trim Replacement - Rear) .
3. Remove the rear compartment lid wiring harness from the rear compartment lid. Refer to Wiring Harness Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid (Wiring Harness Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid) .





Notice: Refer to Tape Corners of Panel Notice in Cautions and Notices.

4. With the aid of an assistant, remove the fasteners (3) securing the rear compartment lid (1) to the rear compartment lid hinge (2).
5. Remove the rear compartment lid (1) from the vehicle.
6. Remove the backup lamp. Refer to Backup Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
7. Remove the high mounted stop lamp. Refer to High Mounted Stop Lamp Replacement .
8. Remove the rear compartment lid latch. Refer to Latch Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid (Service and Repair) .
9. Remove the rear compartment lid lock cylinder. Refer to Lock Cylinder Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid (Service and Repair) .




10. Remove the rear compartment lid overslam bumpers (2) from the rear compartment lid (1).




11. Remove the rear compartment lid drain plugs (1, 2, 3) from the rear compartment lid.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the rear compartment lid drain plugs (1, 2, 3) into the rear compartment lid.




2. Install the rear compartment lid overslam bumpers (2) to the rear compartment lid (1).
3. Install the rear compartment lid lock cylinder. Refer to Lock Cylinder Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid (Service and Repair) .
4. Install the rear compartment lid latch. Refer to Latch Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid (Service and Repair) .
5. Install the high mounted stop lamp. Refer to High Mounted Stop Lamp Replacement .
6. Install the backup lamp. Refer to Backup Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.




7. With the aid of an assistant, install the rear compartment lid (1) to the vehicle.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

8. With the aid of an assistant, install the fasteners (3) in order to secure the rear compartment lid (1) to the rear compartment lid hinge (2).

Tighten the fasteners to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

9. Adjust rear compartment lid as necessary. Refer to Compartment Lid Adjustment - Rear (Compartment Lid Adjustment - Rear) .
10. Install the rear compartment lid wiring harness from the rear compartment lid. Refer to Wiring Harness Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid (Wiring Harness Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid) .
11. Install the rear compartment lid trim panel. Refer to Compartment Lid Trim Replacement - Rear (Compartment Lid Trim Replacement - Rear) .
12. Close the rear compartment lid.
