Lumbar Replacement - Front Seat (AC9)
Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer toSIR Caution in Cautions and Notices.
1. Disable the SIR system. Refer toDisabling the SIR System in SIR.
2. Adjust the front seat forward and up.
3. Remove the seat back trim cover. Refer toSeat Back Trim Replacement - Front (Seat Back Trim Replacement - Front) .
Important: The adaptive lumbar module (2) and pump motor (1) are serviced as an assembly.
4. Remove the seat cover J channels from the seat frame, as necessary, in order to access the adaptive lumbar module and pump motor wiring.
Important: Note the routing of the electrical wiring and the air lines for the lumbar in order to ensure proper routing during reassembly.
5. Disconnect the air line connections from the adaptive lumbar module.
6. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the adaptive lumbar module.
7. Disconnect the electrical connector and single air line from the adaptive lumbar pump motor.
8. Remove the hook and loop material that retains the adaptive lumbar module and the adaptive lumbar pump motor to the seat back frame.
9. Remove the adaptive lumbar pump motor from the seat back frame.
10. Remove the adaptive lumbar module from the seat back frame.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the adaptive lumbar module (2) and the pump motor to the seat back frame.
2. Secure the adaptive lumbar module (2) and the pump motor (1) to the seat back frame with hook and loop material.
3. Reconnect the air line connections to the adaptive lumbar module and the pump motor.
4. Reconnect the electrical connections to the adaptive lumbar module and the pump motor.
5. Install the seat back J channels to the seat back frame.
6. Operate the recliner assembly forward and back in order to ensure that there is not interference with the module wiring and the air line connections.
7. Install the seat back trim cover. Refer toSeat Back Trim Replacement - Front (Seat Back Trim Replacement - Front) .
8. Enable SIR system. Refer toEnabling the SIR System in SIR.
