Change Engine Oil

The Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) illuminates the CHANGE ENGINE OIL - 82 message in the Driver Information Center (DIC) when the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) determines that the engine oil life is 0 percent. The IPC receives a class 2 message from the PCM requesting illumination. After the oil is changed, reset the engine oil monitor. Refer to GM Oil Life System - Resetting in Maintenance and Lubrication.
