Steering Column Trim Covers -Disassemble - Off Vehicle (Manual Tilt, Floor Shift)

Caution: Refer to SIR Cautions in Service Precautions.





1. Disable the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil.
2. Remove the steering wheel from the column.
3. Remove the steering column from the vehicle.





4. Gently pry the steering column closeout trim cover (1) from the lower trim cover (2).
5. Remove the 2 pan head tapping screws (3) from the lower trim cover (2).
6. Remove the lower trim cover (2).





7. Remove 1 pan head tapping screw (2) from the upper trim cover (1).
8. Remove the upper trim cover (1) with the steering column closeout trim cover (3) still attached.





9. If necessary, remove the steering column closeout trim cover from the upper trim cover.
10. Remove 1 pan head tapping screw (2) from the upper trim cover (1).
11. Remove the upper trim cover (1) with the steering column closeout trim cover (3) still attached.
12. If necessary, remove the steering column closeout trim cover from the upper trim cover.
