Scan Tool Data Definitions - Variable Effort Steering (VES)
Scan Tool Data DefinitionsABS Reference Speed: The scan tool displays -255 km/h (-159 mph). The vehicle speed from the average of all four wheel speeds.
Ignition Voltage: The scan tool displays -17 Volts. The level of the ignition voltage at the EBCM.
LF Wheel Speed: The scan tool displays -265 km/h (-159 mph). The actual speed of the left front wheel.
LR Wheel Speed: The scan tool displays -255 km/h (-159 mph). The actual speed of the left rear wheel.
MagnaSteer Commanded Current: The scan tool displays 0.00 to 3.00 amps. The amount of current that the EBCM is commanding to the Variable Effort Steering (VES) actuator.
MagnaSteer Failed: The scan tool displays Yes or No. Yes indicates the VES system is disabled due to a malfunction. No indicates the system is operating to specifications.
MagnaSteer Feedback Current: The scan tool displays 0.00 to 3.00 amps. The amount of current returning to the EBCM from the VES actuator.
MagnaSteer Indicator/Message: the scan tool displays Off or On. The status of the VES indicator or message; if equipped. Indicates if the VES indicator or message is currently on or off.
RF Wheel Speed: The scan tool displays -255 km/h (-159 mph). The actual speed of the right front wheel.
RR Wheel Speed: The scan tool displays -255 km/h (-159 mph). The actual speed of the right rear wheel.
Switched System Battery Voltage: The scan tool displays -17 Volts. The voltage available to the EBCM when the ABS relay is energized.
