Subject:
"Service Electrical System" Message Displayed, DTC P1575 Set [Extended Brake Travel Switch] (Reprogram the PCM)

Models:
2000-2001 Cadillac Eldorado
2000-2002 Cadillac DeVille (Professional Series Vehicles)

Condition

Some customers may comment that a "Service Electrical System" message is displayed on the Driver Information Center. DTC P1575 (Extended Brake Travel Switch) is found to be stored in the Powertrain Control Module.

Correction

Reprogram the PCM using SPS programming and the TIS 2000, version 10 software or newer.

Revised calibrations will be available from lechlme starting September, 2001 on the TIS 2000 version TIS 10/2001 data update or later.

If the software in the vehicle has already been updated, use S12000 and/or the appropriate printed Service Information to diagnose DTC P1575.
