Fender Replacement - Front

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the upper filler panel. Refer to Filler Panel Replacement - Upper (Service and Repair) .
2. Remove the engine compartment fuse and relay center cover.
3. Remove the headlamp. Refer to Headlamp Housing Panel Replacement () in Lighting Systems.
4. Remove the fascia extension. Refer to Fascia Extension Replacement - Front (Fascia Extension Replacement - Front) in Bumpers.
5. Remove the wheelhouse liner. Refer to Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Front (Service and Repair) .
6. Remove the wheel opening molding.
7. Remove the fender sound insulator. Refer to Fender Sound Insulator Replacement - Front (Fender Sound Insulator Replacement - Front) .
8. Remove the rocker panel molding. Refer to Molding Replacement - Rocker Panel () in Exterior Trim.
9. Remove the front fender gussets. Refer to Gusset Replacement - Left (Gusset Replacement - Left) or Gusset Replacement - Right (Gusset Replacement - Right) .
10. Support the hood. Remove the 2 screws that retain the hood hinge to the fender.




11. Remove the 2 bolts that retain the fender at the rocker panel.
12. Remove the 2 bolts that retain the fender to the fascia sliding mount.
13. Remove the 5 bolts that retain the fender to the outer rail (3).
14. Remove the fender (1).



Installation Procedure





1. Position the fender (1) to the body.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the 5 bolts that retain the fender (1) to the outer rail (3).
3. Install the 2 bolts that retain the fender (1) to the fascia sliding mount bolts.
4. Install the 2 bolts that retain the fender (1) at the rocker panel.

Tighten the bolts to 12 N.m (106 lb in).

5. Position the hood hinge to the fender and install the 2 bolts.

Tighten the bolts to 12 N.m (106 lb in).

6. Install the rocker panel. Refer to Molding Replacement - Rocker Panel () in Exterior Trim.
7. Install the fender sound insulator. Refer to Fender Sound Insulator Replacement - Front (Fender Sound Insulator Replacement - Front) .
8. Place the outboard edge of the insulator rearward so that the insulator contacts the upper fender reinforcement.
9. Install the wheelhouse liner. Refer to Wheelhouse Liner Replacement - Front (Service and Repair) .
10. Install the fascia extension. Refer to Fascia Extension Replacement - Front (Fascia Extension Replacement - Front) in Bumpers.
11. Install the wheel opening molding.
12. Install the headlamp housing. Refer to Headlamp Housing Panel Replacement () in Lighting Systems.
13. Install the front fender gussets. Refer to Gusset Replacement - Left (Gusset Replacement - Left) or Gusset Replacement - Right (Gusset Replacement - Right) .
14. Install the engine compartment fuse and relay center cover.
15. Install the upper filler panels. Refer to Filler Panel Replacement - Upper (Service and Repair) .
