Instrument Cluster Odometer Operation

The IPC contains a season odometer and a trip odometer. The IPC calculates the mileage based on the vehicle speed signal circuit from the PCM. The mileage is stored in the EEPROM. The odometer will display 'error' if an EEPROM failure is detected. Pressing the TRIP RESET (YES) button of the Driver Information Center (DIC) for greater than 2 seconds resets the trip odometer. The odometer displays either miles or kilometers as requested by pressing the INFO (SKIP) button of the DIC in order to scroll to the ENGLISH/METRIC parameter. Briefly pressing the INFO RESET (NO) button of the DIC will command the km or the MI indicator to illuminate in the IPC.
