Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) - Replacement
REMOVAL PROCEDURENOTE: Whenever the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) is removed from the vehicle, DO NOT set the IPC on its face for more than 15 minutes or damage to the fluid filled air core gages may result.
1. Remove the following fuses from the rear compartment fuse block:
^ RLY IGN 1
^ IGN O-BODY
^ CLUSTER
2. Remove the following fuses from the front fuse block:
^ HAZARD
^ MIRROR
3. Remove the upper trim pad.
4. Disconnect the electrical connectors (1) from the top of the instrument cluster.
5. Remove the 4 fasteners retaining the cluster to the instrument panel.
6. Slide the cluster upward in order to remove.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Slide the cluster downward into position.
2. Position the locating pins on the cluster to the guide holes in the instrument panel.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
3. Install the 4 fasteners in sequence (as illustrated) in order to retain the cluster to the instrument panel.
Tighten
Tighten the fasteners (as illustrated), to 2 N.m (18 lb in).
IMPORTANT: To avoid bent cluster connector pins, make sure the electrical connectors are properly aligned before seating the connectors.
4. Secure the electrical connectors (1) to the top of the instrument cluster.
5. Ensure the electrical harness retainers (2,3) are secured to the top of the instrument panel.
6. Install the following fuses to the rear compartment fuse block:
^ RLY IGN 1
^ IGN O-BODY
^ CLUSTER
7. Install the following fuses to the front fuse block:
^ HAZARD
^ MIRROR
8. Install the upper trim pad.
9. Re-program the (IPC). Refer to Programming Theft Deterrent System Components in Theft Deterrent.
