Compressor Hose Assembly Replacement
TOOLS REQUIREDJ 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
2. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
3. Disconnect the battery.
4. Remove the suction line retaining bracket.
5. Disconnect the compressor suction hose from the accumulator.
6. Remove the compressor discharge hose (1) from the condenser.
7. Remove the engine splash shield.
8. Disconnect the left engine oil cooler line from the oil filter adapter.
9. Disconnect the A/C pressure switch.
10. Remove the bolt that retains the compressor hose assembly (1) at the compressor.
11. Remove the compressor hose assembly from the vehicle.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the compressor hose assembly to the vehicle.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Connect the compressor hose assembly to the compressor.
Tighten
Tighten the compressor hose assembly (1) to the compressor to 30 N.m (20 lb ft).
3. Connect the left engine oil cooler line to the oil filter adapter.
4. Install the engine splash shield.
5. Connect the A/C pressure connector.
6. Install the compressor hose to the accumulator.
Tighten
Tighten the hose at the accumulator to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).
7. Install the compressor hose (1) to condenser.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).
8. Install the air cleaner assembly.
9. Recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
10. Leak test the fittings of the component using the J 39400-A.
