Hood Hinge Replacement

Removal Procedure


Caution: When a hood hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.

1. Open the hood and support the hood at the front.
2. Mark the hinge locations on the hood panel and the fender.
3. Place tape or other protection on the corner of the hood on the side where the hinge is to be removed.




4. Remove the 2 bolts that retain the hinge (2) to the fender (3).
5. Remove the 2 bolts that retain the hinge (2) to the hood (1).
6. Remove the hinge (2).



Installation Procedure





1. Position the hinge (2) to the hood (1) using the scribed locations.
2. Install the 2 bolts that retain the hinge to the hood.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

3. Install the 2 bolts that retain the hinge (2) to the fender (3).

Tighten the bolts to 12 N.m (106 lb in).

4. Remove the hood corner protection.
5. Close the hood and inspect for fit.
6. Touch up any exposed or unpainted surfaces with body color paint.
