Hood Latch Replacement - Primary

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the radiator support sight shield. Refer to Radiator Support Sight Shield Replacement (Radiator Support Sight Shield Replacement) .




2. Remove the 2 bolts (3) that retain the primary latch (1).
3. Remove the hood latch release cable from the latch (1).
4. Remove the primary hood latch (1).



Installation Procedure





1. Install the hood latch release cable to the latch (1).
2. Position the latch (1) to the vehicle.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

3. Install the 2 bolts (3) that retain the latch.

Tighten the bolts to 11 N.m (97 lb in).

4. Install the radiator support sight shield. Refer to Radiator Support Sight Shield Replacement (Radiator Support Sight Shield Replacement) .
5. Close the hood.
6. Inspect the latch operation. Adjust the latch if needed. Refer to Hood Latch Adjustment (Adjustments)
