Hood Latch Support Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the hood primary latch. Refer to Hood Latch Replacement - Primary (Hood Latch Replacement - Primary) .
2. Remove the ambient temperature sensor. Refer to Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Replacement in HVAC System-Automatic.
3. Remove the power steering cooler pipe bolt at the hood latch support. Refer to Power Steering Cooler Pipe/Hose Replacement in Power Steering System.




4. Remove the nuts (3) and the bolts (1) that retain the hood latch support (2).
5. Remove the center support (2).



Installation Procedure





1. Install the hood latch support (2).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the nuts (3) and the bolts (1).

Tighten the nuts and the bolts to 12 N.m (106 lb in).

3. Install the bolt that retains the power steering cooler to the hood latch support. Refer to Power Steering Cooler Pipe/Hose Replacement in Power Steering System.
4. Install the ambient temperature sensor. Refer to Ambient Air Temperature Sensor Replacement in HVAC System-Automatic.
5. Install the hood primary latch. Refer to Hood Latch Replacement - Primary (Hood Latch Replacement - Primary) .
Adjust the latch as needed. Refer to Hood Latch Adjustment (Adjustments) .
