Trim Plate Replacement - Console Rear
Removal Procedure
1. Position the front seats full to the forward position.
2. Remove the console storage bin. Refer to Console Storage Bin Replacement (Service and Repair) .
3. Remove the 2 upper screws (2) from the console rear trim cover.
4. Remove the 2 console to floor bolts (1).
Important: The lower screws (1) are hidden under the carpeted side trim panels at the rear of the console on both sides.
5. Pull the rear edge of the carpeting back on the console side trim panel near the edge of the auxiliary air outlet deflectors in order to expose the lower screws (1).
6. Remove the 2 lower trim cover screws (1).
7. Partially remove the floor console rear trim cover (3).
8. Disconnect the cigar lighter electrical connector (1).
9. Remove the rear HVAC control lamp (2).
10. Using needle nose pliers, disconnect the rear HVAC auxiliary blower control electrical connector (4), located behind the HVAC duct attached to the rear console trim cover (3).
11. Remove the floor console rear trim cover (1).
12. Remove the screws securing the auxiliary HVAC duct to the rear console trim cover.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the auxiliary HVAC duct to the rear console trim cover.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
Tighten the fasteners to 1.6 N.m (14 lb in).
2. Partially install the floor console rear trim cover (1) to the floor console.
3. Using needle nose pliers, connect the rear HVAC blower control electrical connector (4), located behind the HVAC duct.
4. Connect the cigar lighter electrical connector (1).
5. Install the rear HVAC control lamp (2).
6. Install the 2 console to floor bolts (1).
Tighten the fasteners to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).
7. Install the 2 upper screws (2) from the console rear trim cover.
Tighten the fasteners to 1.6 N.m (14 lb in).
8. Install the 2 lower console trim cover screws (1).
Tighten the fasteners to 1.6 N.m (14 lb in).
9. Reposition the side trim panel carpeting to cover the lower console trim cover screws.
10. Install the console storage bin. Refer to Console Storage Bin Replacement (Service and Repair) .
11. Reposition the front seats.
