Assist Handle Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Gently pry out the outer edge of the escutcheon. Slide the escutcheon toward the center of the assist strap.
2. Remove the 2 fasteners that retain the assist strap.
3. Remove the assist strap.
4. Remove the rear quarter trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter Upper (Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter Upper) .
5. Remove the retainers from the back of the quarter trim that retain assist strap to quarter trim.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the retainers that secure the assist strap to quarter trim panel.
2. Install quarter trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter Upper (Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter Upper) .

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

3. Install the two fasteners that retain assist strap and quarter trim to the body.

Tighten the 2 fasteners to 1.6 N.m (14 lb in).

4. Secure the assist strap escutcheons.
