Engine Oil Cooler Hose/Pipe ReplacementRemoval Procedure
1. Remove the upper filler panel.
2. Disconnect the engine oil cooler inlet pipe fitting (1) from the radiator.
3. Remove the front air deflector.
4. Complete the following in order to remove the engine oil cooler outlet pipe from the radiator:
4.1. Depress the tabs inward.
4.2. Pull outward to remove the engine oil cooler outlet pipe.
5. Disconnect the engine oil cooler fittings (1, 2) from the engine oil filter adapter.
6. Remove the engine oil cooler pipes from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Make sure the O-rings are properly positioned to the engine oil cooler pipes.
2. Position the engine oil cooler pipes to the vehicle.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
3. Install the engine oil cooler fitting with the long nut (1) to the engine oil filter adapter.
4. Install the engine oil cooler fitting with the short nut (2) to the engine oil filter adapter.
Important: Ensure the engine oil cooler pipes are positioned horizontally and parallel to each other while tightening.
^ Tighten the engine oil cooler pipe fittings to 18 Nm (13 ft. lbs.).
Important: Ensure that the engine oil cooler outlet pipe is routed under the A/C compressor hose.
5. Push the engine oil cooler outlet pipe fully into the engine oil cooler quick connect fitting, until a "click" is heard.
6. Tug gently on the cooler pipe to ensure proper retention.
7. Install the front air deflector.
8. Lower the vehicle.
9. Install the engine oil cooler inlet pipe to the radiator.
Important: Ensure the engine oil cooler pipe is positioned at a 10 degrees angle (2) while tightening.
^ Tighten the engine oil cooler pipe fitting to 18 Nm (13 ft. lbs.).
10. Install the upper filler panel.
11. Check the engine oil level.
