Rear Axle Upper Control Arm ReplacementRemoval Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the tire and wheel.
3. Remove the automatic level control height sensor link from the upper control arm.
4. Remove the fuel filler tube bracket and position away.
5. Remove the upper to support mounting bolt and nut.
6. Remove the upper control errs to knuckle mounting bolt and nut.
7. Remove the upper control arm from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the upper control to the vehicle.
Notice: Refer to fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the inner and outer control arm bolts. Place a screw jack under the outboard end of the lower control arm to bring the suspension to designed trin1 height. The inner control arm nuts must be tightened in design position to reduce wind up in the bushings.
Tighten the upper control arm inner and outer nuts to 57 Nm (42 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the fuel filler tube bracket.
4. Install the automatic level control height sensor link.
5. Install the tire and wheel.
6. Lower the vehicle.
