Doors: Adjustments

IMPORTANT: If the door hinge fasteners (1) are removed, the anchor plate will fall into the door.

The door panel and the water deflector will need to be removed in order to retrieve the anchor plate, if the anchor plate falls into the door.




1. Loosen the hinge bolts in order to adjust the door at the door hinge pillar in the following directions:
^ Up or down
^ In or out
2. Reposition the door as needed.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.




3. Adjust for a limited up or down movement at the body side hinge attachments.

Tighten
Tighten the hinge to the door fasteners to 34 N.m (25 lb ft).

4. Position the door tore or aft at the body hinge pillar attachment. Perform the following steps as needed:
4.1. Loosen the fasteners.
4.2. Reposition the fasteners.
4.3. Tighten the fasteners.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).

5. Adjust the lock striker. Refer to Lock Striker Adjustment - Door.
