Seat Back Cover and Pad - Rear Split Folding

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the seat back. Refer toSeat Back Replacement - Rear (Seat Back Replacement - Rear) .




2. Remove the split fold seat pivot nut (1).
3. Remove the seat back from the seat frame.
4. Remove the head restraints. Refer toHead Restraint Replacement - Rear Seat (Head Restraint Replacement - Rear Seat) .
5. Remove the head restraint retainers. Refer toHead Restraint Retainer Replacement - Rear Seat (Head Restraint Retainer Replacement - Rear Seat) .




6. Remove the push in retainers (1) retaining the seat back cover to the seat frame.
7. Remove the armrest. Refer toArmrest Replacement - Rear Seat (Service and Repair) .




8. Remove the push in retainers (1) from the front of the seat back frame retaining the seat back cover to the seat frame.
9. Unhook all J channels from the seat frame.
10. Remove the seat back trim cover from the frame.



Installation Procedure

1. Position the seat back cover to the foam pad.
2. Position the foam cushion and pad to the seat back frame.
3. Work the cover edges over the foam cushion.




4. Install the push in retainers (1) to the front of the seat cover.
5. Install the armrest. Refer toArmrest Replacement - Rear Seat (Service and Repair) .




6. Install the push in retainers (1) to the back of the seat back cover.
7. Install the J channels to retain the rear seat back cover and foam pad to the seat back frame.
8. Install the seat back to the seat frame.

Notice: Refer toFastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.





9. Install the split fold seat pivot nut (1).

Tighten the nut to 42 Nm (31 lb ft).

10. Use the following procedures if the seat back is equipped with center head restraints:

* Align the head restraint mounting holes with the seat covers.
* Cut holes in the seat back cover in order to install the head restraint retainers

11. Install the head restraint retainers. Refer toHead Restraint Retainer Replacement - Rear Seat (Head Restraint Retainer Replacement - Rear Seat) .
12. Install the seat back. Refer toSeat Back Replacement - Rear (Seat Back Replacement - Rear) .
13. Install the head restraints. Refer toHead Restraint Replacement - Rear Seat (Head Restraint Replacement - Rear Seat) .
