Condition
Some customers may comment that the RKE key fob will not function unless they are close to the vehicle. In some cases, the system may not function at all. This condition is intermittent and location specific.
Cause
When the vehicle is close to a high power transmitter (large radio or TV station) around 105.5 MHz (TV channels 11-14), the RKE receiver is overloaded by the harmonics of the broadcaster's signal and does not properly detect the signal from the low power RKE fob.
Correction
Engineering has corrected the condition by modifying the current radio antenna module assembly. Replace the existing radio antenna module with P/N 12233252. Refer to Antenna Module Replacement procedure in the Entertainment sub-section of the Service Manual.
