Cooling Fan and Motor Replacement - Auxiliary

Tools Required
- J 44827 Transmission Cooler Quick Disconnect

Removal Procedure
1. Remove the air deflector.







2. Disconnect the auxiliary cooling fan electrical connector.

Notice: The transmission oil cooler lines use a quick connect fitting at the radiator. The quick connect fitting must be removed using a special tool. Removing the transmission oil cooler lines without the tool will result in damage to the radiator and the transmission oil cooler, and may damage the transmission due to mixing of the transmission oil and coolant.

3. Using the J 44827 disconnect the auxiliary transmission cooler lines from the auxiliary cooler.
4. Position the auxiliary cooler lines out of the way.







5. Remove the auxiliary cooling fan assembly bolts (1, 2).
6. Remove the lower left auxiliary cooling fan bolt.







7. Remove the auxiliary cooling fan assembly bolt (1).
8. Remove the upper left auxiliary cooling fan bolt.
9. Remove the auxiliary cooling fan assembly from the car.


Installation Procedure
1. Position the auxiliary fan assembly into the vehicle.







Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the auxiliary cooling fan lower bolts (1,2).
Tighten the bolts to 6.5 Nm (58 inch lbs.).







3. Install the fan assembly bolt (1).
Tighten the bolt to 6.5 Nm (58 inch lbs.).

4. Install the remaining auxiliary cooling fan bolts.
Tighten the bolts to 6.5 Nm (58 inch lbs.).

5. Push the auxiliary transaxle oil cooler line into the cooler until you hear it engage.
6. Gently tug out on the transmission oil cooler line to verify that the line is engaged into position.







7. Connect the auxiliary fan electrical connector.
8. Install the air deflector.
9. Inspect the transmission fluid level.
