Cylinder Head Installation - Left

Tools Required
- J 36660-A Torque Angle Meter







1. Install the new cylinder head gasket with the imprint toward the top and facing toward you.
2. Install the cylinder head to the engine block.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Important: Use new cylinder head bolts. The required tightening method stretches the bolts, therefore the cylinder head bolts are not reusable.

3. Install the new cylinder head bolts.
- Tighten the cylinder head bolts to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.) on the first pass.
- Tighten the cylinder head bolts to 90 degrees using the J 36660-A.
- Tighten the cylinder head bolts to 90 degrees using the J 36660-A.
- Tighten the cylinder head bolts to 90 degrees using the J 36660-A.
- Tighten the cylinder head bolts to 15 degrees using the J 36660-A.
