Power Steering Pressure Hose Replacement (LHD)Removal Procedure
1. Place a drain pan under the vehicle.
2. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
3. Remove the intake air resonator.
4. Remove the front air deflector.
5. Remove the power steering pressure hose retaining nut from the air conditioning compressor.
6. Remove the clip from the power steering pressure hose.
7. Disconnect the power steering pressure hose from the power steering pump.
8. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
9. Disconnect the power steering pressure hose from the power steering gear.
10. Remove the power steering pressure hose mounting bolt.
11. Remove the power steering pressure hose from the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
Important: Loosely install the pressure hose and retainers before tightening.
1. Install the power steering pressure hose.
2. Install the power steering pressure hose retaining bolt.
Important: Install a new seal on the power steering pressure hose before installing to the power steering gear.
3. Connect the power steering pressure hose to the power steering gear.
4. Lower the vehicle.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precaution.
5. Install the power steering pressure hose fitting to the power steering pump.
^ Tighten the hose to pump fitting to 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.).
Important: When installing the power steering pressure hose into the power steering pump a distinct click should be heard when the hose is fully seated.
6. Connect the power steering pressure hose to the power steering pump.
7. Install the power steering pressure hose retaining nut to the air conditioning compressor.
^ Tighten the hose to air compressor retaining nut to 8 Nm (71 inch lbs.).
^ Tighten the hose to the gear retaining bolts to 9 Nm (80 inch lbs.).
^ Tighten the hose to gear fittings to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
8. Install the clip to the power steering pressure hose.
9. Install the intake air resonator.
10. Install the air cleaner assembly.
11. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
12. Bleed the power steering system.
13. Install the front air deflector.
