Hollow Vibrating Bump/Thump Noise From Front Underbody Area Heard In Passenger Compartment When Driving Over Rough/Bumpy Roads (Replace Engine Mounts)

Condition

Some customers may comment on a hollow vibrating/reverberating bump or thump type noise coming from the front underbody area. This noise may be heard inside the passenger compartment when traveling at speeds of 48-64 km/h (30-40 mph) over moderate input bumps such as expansion joints or man-hole covers. This condition may also be described as a "loose lumber" noise.

Correction

Replace the existing engine mounts with P/N 25744159.

Refer to the engine mount replacement procedures in the Engine Mechanical sub-section of the Service Manual.
