Power Seat Motor Position Sensor: Service and Repair

POWER RECLINER SENSOR REPLACEMENT - FRONT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the front bucket seat.

CAUTION: Refer to SIR Caution in Service Precautions

2. Remove the seat back trim cover.




3. Remove the push pin retainer (1) from the edge of the lower seat belt retractor trim cover (2).
4. Release the rear of the lower seat belt retractor trim cover (2), and remove the trim cover (2).




5. Remove the retainer clip from the recliner motor end of the recliner shaft.




6. Slide the recliner shaft out of the recliner motor sensor (outboard side) far enough to clear the sensor.
7. Disconnect the recliner sensor electrical connector from beneath the seat.
8. Release the recliner sensor from the recliner motor.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Snap the recliner sensor to the recliner motor.




2. Slide the recliner shaft back through the recliner sensor and the recliner motor.




3. Install the retaining clip to the recliner shaft.
4. Connect the recliner motor electrical connector.
5. Install the seat back trim cover.




6. Install the lower seat belt retractor trim cover (2).
7. Install the push pin fastener (1)
8. Install the front bucket seat.
