Wiper Motor Replacement (LHD)

WIPER MOTOR REPLACEMENT (LHD)

TOOLS REQUIRED
- J 39232Wiper Transmission Separator
- J 39529 Wiper Transmission Installer

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Disconnect the wiper motor electrical connector.

CAUTION: Placing your hands into the crank arm assembly can cause personal injury. Always replace the windshield wiper module cover before operating the windshield wiper system.

2. Remove the three wiper motor bolts.
3. Move the wiper arms 153-204 mm (6-8 in) up the windshield from the park position.
4. Pull the wiper motor away from the vehicle.




5. Disconnect the transmission drive link from the wiper motor crank arm using the J 39232.
6. Remove the wiper motor from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Move the wiper arms 153-204 mm (6-8 in) up the windshield from the park position.
2. Connect the transmission drive link to the wiper motor crank arm using the J 39529.




3. Install the wiper motor onto the vehicle with three bolts.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

4. Connect the electrical connector to the wiper motor.
5. Inspect the wiper washer system for proper operation.
