80. Engine Oil Cooler Installation

Oil Cooler Installation





1. Install the engine oil cooler inlet/outlet O-ring seals.
2. Install the engine oil cooler.





3. Apply a 2 mm (0.08 inch) bead of GM P/N 12378521 (Canadian P/N 88901148), or equivalent, in the groove around the engine oil cooler cover.





4. Apply thread adhesive GM P/N 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489) to the engine oil cooler cover bolts.

Notice: Install the engine oil cooler cover bolts and tighten using the tightening sequence.

5. Tighten the engine oil cooler cover bolts in sequence to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
6. Install the engine oil cooler outlet nut.
7. Install the engine oil cooler inlet nut.

Tighten the engine oil cooler inlet and outlet nuts to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).





8. Install the engine oil cooler pipes to the engine.
9. Install the engine oil cooler pipe fittings to the engine block.

Tighten the engine oil cooler pipe fittings to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).





10. Install the engine oil cooler pipe seals to the engine oil cooler.
11. Install the engine oil cooler pipe fittings to the oil cooler.

Tighten the engine oil cooler pipe fittings to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
