Suction Hose Replacement (LHD)
SUCTION HOSE REPLACEMENT (LHD)TOOLS REQUIRED
- J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector
- J 45689 A/C Quick Joint Tool
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Recover the refrigerant.
IMPORTANT: The body of the tool should be parallel to the A/C line.
2. Using the J 45689 (1), disconnect the suction hose from the evaporator by pressing the probe end into the two small openings in the plastic quick joint.
3. Remove the suction hose retaining screw (1) from the clamp.
4. Separate the suction hose from the clamp.
5. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
6. Remove the retaining bolt (1) from the compressor.
7. Remove the suction hose from the vehicle.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Coat the new O-rings with refrigerant oil.
2. Install the suction hose.
3. Connect the suction hose to the evaporator.
IMPORTANT: Squeeze the clamp together until you hear it engage.
4. Position the clamp (1) around the suction hose and engage.
5. Gently tug on the suction hose to ensure that the clamp is engaged.
6. Position the suction hose into the bracket.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
7. Install the screw (1) into the bracket.
Tighten
Tighten the screw to 1 N.m (9 lb in).
8. Connect the suction hose to the compressor.
9. Install the retaining bolt (1) to the compressor.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 9.8 N.m (87 lb in).
10. Install the air cleaner assembly.
11. Evacuate and recharge the refrigerant system.
12. Leak test the fittings of the component using the J 39400-A.
