Transmission Fluid Replacement

Draining Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Clean away all dirt and debris from the transmission fluid drain plug area.





3. Remove the transmission fluid drain plug and washer.
4. Allow the transmission fluid to drain into an appropriate container for proper disposal.
5. Clean away all dirt and debris from the drain plug magnet.





6. Notice: Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Notice in Service Precautions.

Install the transmission fluid drain plug and washer.
Tighten the plug to 35 Nm (26 ft. lbs.).

Filling Procedure
1. Clean away all dirt and debris from the transmission fluid fill plug area.





2. Remove the fill plug and washer (1).





3. Fill the transmission with DEXRON�-III transmission fluid, until even with the bottom of the fill plug hole.





4. Install the transmission fluid fill plug and washer (1).
Tighten the plug to 35 Nm (26 ft. lbs.).
5. Lower the vehicle.
