Recall 05V024000: Inadvertent Air Bag Deployment

SUMMARY:
On certain passenger vehicles, an interaction between the sensing and diagnostic module and vehicle electrical system may cause the driver's frontal air bag and roof rail air bag to deploy when the ignition key is turned to the "ON" position.

CONSEQUENCE:
Inadvertent deployment of driver's frontal air bag and roof rail air bag will occur. A person positioned for driving may receive minor injuries, such as abrasions, from contact with the air bag.

REMEDY:
Dealers will replace the sensing and diagnostic module. The recall is expected to begin during May 2005. Owners should contact Cadillac at 1-866-982-2339.
