Driver or Passenger Seat Horizontal Adjuster Cable Replacement
Removal Procedure
Caution: Refer toSIR Caution in Cautions and Notices.
1. Disable the SIR system. Refer toSIR Disabling and Enabling or toSIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.
2. Remove the seat assembly. Refer toBucket Seat Replacement (Bucket Seat Replacement) .
3. Remove the seat cushion to gain access to the horizontal seat adjuster motor. Refer toFront Seat Cushion Replacement (Front Seat Cushion Replacement) .
4. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the motor.
5. Remove the screws from the top of the adjuster motor.
6. Remove the seat adjuster drive cable (1) by pulling the cable out of the motor.
7. Remove the seat adjuster motor .
8. Remove the short drive cable from the seat adjuster.
Installation Procedure
1. Position the short drive cable into the seat adjuster.
2. Line up the square end of the cable with the motor.
3. Slide the motor on to the cable.
4. Install the long drive cable (1) into the motor.
5. Install the long cable into the seat adjuster.
6. Ensure that both cables are fully seated.
Notice: Refer toFastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
7. Install the motor retaining screws.
Tighten the screws to 5 Nm (44 lb in).
8. Connect the electrical connectors.
9. Install the seat cushion. Refer toFront Seat Cushion Replacement (Front Seat Cushion Replacement) .
10. Install the seat assembly. Refer toBucket Seat Replacement (Bucket Seat Replacement) .
11. Enable the SIR system. Refer toSIR Disabling and Enabling or toSIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.
12. If the vehicle is equipped with memory seats, calibrate the seat.
