Discharge Hose Replacement

DISCHARGE HOSE REPLACEMENT

TOOLS REQUIRED
J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Recover the refrigerant.
2. Remove the air deflector.




3. Remove the bolt that holds the compressor discharge hose to the compressor.
4. Separate the compressor discharge hose from the compressor.




5. Remove the bolt (1) from the condenser.
6. Separate the discharge line from the condenser.
7. Remove the discharge hose.
8. Remove and discard the O-ring seals

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1. Lubricate the O-rings.
2. Install the discharge hose.
3. Connect the discharge hose to compressor.






NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

4. Install the discharge hose bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 9.8 N.m (87 lb in).

5. Install the discharge hose to the condenser.




6. Install the bolt (1) to the discharge hose.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 5.4 N.m (48 lb in).

7. Install the air deflector.
8. Evacuate and recharge the refrigerant system.
9. Leak test the fittings of the component using J 39400-A.
