Condition
Some customers may comment on a no-start condition because of a discharged battery. This condition usually occurs after the vehicle has sat for a extended of time, approximately 3-4 days and when parked near other vehicles with tire pressure monitoring systems (TPM). This may also be experienced with unsold vehicles in inventory.
Cause
This condition may be due to RF traffic from other vehicles causing the modules on the class 2 line to wake up intermittently resulting in a battery draw/load. This draw/load on the battery could discharge the battery to the point where the battery will not have sufficient amperage to start the vehicle.
Diagnosis
Rely on customer feedback to determine when the condition occurred. If the customer states that the battery died overnight, then most likely the antenna module is not the source. If the customer had their vehicle in a busy parking lot for several days and the battery died, then the antenna module could be the source.
