Front Door: Adjustments



Door Adjustment

1. Adjust the doors to the following specifications:

* Front door to rear door gap: 4.0 mm +/- 1.0 mm (0.157 in +/- 0.039 in)
* Front and rear door header to roof gap: 6.0 mm +/- 1.5 mm (0.236 in +/- 0.059 in)
* Rear door to quarter panel gap: 4.0 mm +/- 1.0 mm (0.157 in +/- 0.039 in)
* Rear door to sail panel gap: 4.0 mm +/- 1.0 mm (0.157 in +/- 0.039 in)






Important: If the door hinge fasteners (1) are removed, the anchor plate will fall into the door causing a complete teardown to replace.


2. Loosen the hinge fasteners in order to adjust the door at the door hinge pillar in the following directions:

* Up or down
* In or out

3. Reposition the door as needed.




4. Adjust for a limited up or down movement at the body side hinge attachments.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

5. Position the door fore or aft at the body hinge pillar attachment. Perform the following steps as needed:

1. Loosen the fasteners.
2. Reposition the door.
3. Tighten the fasteners.

Tighten the fasteners to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).


6. Adjust the lock striker. Refer to Lock Striker Adjustment - Door (Adjustments) .
