Lock Cylinder Replacement - Door
Removal Procedure
1. Place the window in the full up position.
2. Remove the front door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door (Standard) (Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door (Standard))Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door (WC2, WC8) (Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door (WC2, WC8)) .
3. Remove the door module. Refer to Door Control Module Replacement Service and Repair
4. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door Service and Repair
5. Remove the outside door handle. Refer to Door Handle Replacement - Front Outside (Service and Repair) .
6. Remove the E-clip on the lock cylinder to remove the lock rod and arm.
7. Open the clamp at the door handle in order to release the lock cylinder from the retaining clip.
8. Remove the lock cylinder from the backside of the door handle.
Installation Procedure
1. If a new lock cylinder is to be installed, refer to Key and Lock Cylinder Coding in General Information, for the proper coding procedure.
2. Snap the lock cylinder into the outside door handle from the backside.
3. Install the lock cylinder rod and arm to the lock cylinder with the E-clip.
4. Install the outside door handle. Refer to Door Handle Replacement - Front Outside (Service and Repair) .
5. Install the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door Service and Repair
6. Install the door module. Refer to Door Control Module Replacement Service and Repair
7. Install the front door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door (Standard) (Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door (Standard))Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door (WC2, WC8) (Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door (WC2, WC8)) .
