SYMPTOMS - SEATS

IMPORTANT: The following steps must be completed before using the symptom tables.

1. Review the appropriate system description and operation from the following list in order to familiarize yourself with the system functions:
- Power Seats System Description and Operation

2. If you are diagnosing a seat system with memory (A45) or heated seats, perform the Diagnostic System Check - Power Seat Systems before using the symptom tables in order to verify that all of the following are true:
- There are no DTCs set.
- The control module(s) can communicate via the serial data link. Diagnostic System Check

Visual/physical Inspection
- Inspect for aftermarket devices which could affect the operation of the power seats.
- Inspect the easily accessible or visible system components for obvious damage or conditions which could cause the symptom.
- Inspect the seat adjuster track for conditions which may cause binding or objects within the seat adjustment range which may obstruct movement or interfere with wiring.

In addition, for the climate control seat (CCS) system, the following conditions can degrade the performance, or cause premature shut down of the climate control seat module (CCSM):
- Dirty heated/cool ventilation module air filter.
- Blockage of an exhaust air duct.
- Misaligned heated/cool ventilation module.
- Incorrect foam installation of the seat cushion or seat back.

Intermittent
Faulty electrical connections or wiring may be the cause of intermittent conditions.
