This bulletin is being revised to add DTCs to the subject line for improved searchability. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 04-08-49-029B (Section 08 - Body and Accessories).

Condition

Some customers may comment that the information displayed on the I/P is inoperative or erratic on an intermittent basis. Multiple U-codes may be set.

Cause

This condition may be caused by a software anomaly within the data link communication (DLC) chip in the I/P cluster assembly.

Correction

Do NOT replace the I/P cluster.

Clear any DTCs for the I/P cluster before reprogramming.

Using Service Programming System (SPS), reprogram the I/P cluster with new calibrations available on TIS 3.0 2006 or later CD, satellite broadcast, or TIS2Web. Refer to Service Programming System (SPS) in SI.
