Window Replacement - Front Door (RPO WC2 and WC8)

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door (Standard) (Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door (Standard))Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door (WC2, WC8) (Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door (WC2, WC8)) .
2. Remove the door module. Refer to Door Control Module Replacement. Service and Repair
3. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door Service and Repair
4. Remove the inner window belt sealing strip. Refer to Sealing Strip Replacement - Front Door Window Belt Inner (Door Window Sealing Strip) .
Caution: Refer to Express Window Down Caution in Cautions and Notices.
5. Connect the power window switch and module.
6. Lower the window to the full-down position.
Caution: Refer to Glass and Sheet Metal Handling Caution in Cautions and Notices.




7. Apply 50 mm (2 in) masking tape on the inner door edge to protect the door glass against scratching.
8. Remove the 3 5-mm Allen bolts (2) from the front window (1).




9. Use the following steps to remove the window from the door:

1. Support the window through the access hole of the inner panel.
2. Tilt the window downward at the front.
3. Pull upward on the rear edge of the window.
4. Pull the window up and out of the door from the outer side of the window opening.




Installation Procedure





1. Install the window into the door in the following order:

1. Carefully lower the front edge of the window into the door from the outer side of the window opening.
2. Position the rear edge of the window downward.
3. Raise the window to the full up position.
4. Tape the window in place.






Important: Ensure that the window attach countersunk holes are facing down on the window regulator assembly.


2. Carefully raise the window regulator (2) to the full up position, engaging the window (1).
3. Remove the tape from the window.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

4. Set the glass onto the window regulator.
5. Install the 5-mm Allen bolts.

Tighten the window regulator fasteners to 18 Nm (24 lb ft).

6. Remove the masking tape from the inner door panel upper edge.
7. Install the inner window belt sealing strip. Refer to Sealing Strip Replacement - Front Door Window Belt Inner (Door Window Sealing Strip) .
8. Install the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door Service and Repair
9. Install the door module. Refer to Door Control Module Replacement. Service and Repair
10. Install the door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door (Standard) (Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door (Standard))Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door (WC2, WC8) (Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door (WC2, WC8)) .
