Seat Switch Replacement - Power

SEAT SWITCH REPLACEMENT - POWER

TOOLS REQUIRED
J 38778 Door Trim Pad and Garnish Clip Remover

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Disable the SIR. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 7 or SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 5 in Restraint Systems.

CAUTION: Refer to SIR Caution in Service Precautions.

2. Adjust the front seat to the up position until maximum travel is reached.
Angle the front of the seat cushion up in order to access the seat cushion fasteners.




3. Remove the fasteners retaining the cushion to the seat adjuster.
4. Disconnect the electrical connectors.




5. Remove the knobs from the switch.
6. Remove the 2 push pins from the inside of the switch trim plate, on the bottom edge of the trim plate.
7. Release the tabs at the bottom of the switch plate.




8. Remove the switch trim plate.
9. Remove the J channels from the seat cushion.
10. Pull the front seat cushion cover up in order to expose the seat switch.




11. Using the J 38778 , remove the switch bracket retainers.




12. Release the locking tabs on the switch bracket, and slide the seat switch from the seat bottom.
13. Disconnect the electrical connector from the switch.
14. Remove the front seat cushion and frame assembly from the adjuster.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Connect the electrical connector to the seat switch.
2. Slide the seat switch and bracket assembly onto the seat bottom.




3. Install the seat switch bracket retainers into the seat bottom.
4. Pull the seat cover back down over the switch and align holes in the cover to the switch assembly.
5. Install the seat cover J channels to the seat bottom frame.




6. Install the seat switch trim plate.




7. Install the knobs to the switches.




8. Align the front seat cushion and frame assembly with the seat adjuster.
9. Connect the electrical connectors.
10. Engage the rear of the seat cushion with the seat adjuster, push down on the front of the cushion in order to engage the studs in the seat adjuster.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

11. Install the seat cushion fasteners.

Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

12. Enable the SIR. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 7 or SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 5 in Restraint Systems.
