Condition

Some owners may comment on a crank, no start condition. In addition, the vehicle may have some or all of the following PCM codes stored: P0118, P0122, P0335, P0385, P0412, and P0340. There may also be other PCM codes present. If the battery power is removed from the ECM, then reconnected, the vehicle will start and run.

Cause

Diagnosis may lead to no injector pulses as the cause of the no start condition.

This condition is sometimes described as PCM logic lock up.

Correction

Reprogram the PCM with the latest calibration listed below or later.

The new calibration will be released beginning with TIS satellite data update version 8.0 for 2004, which includes TECH2 update version 24.005, available August 2004. As always, make sure your TECH2 is updated with the latest software version.
