DTC B1717CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The switch that failed and generated this diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is a built in part of the driver door switch assembly (DDSA). However, it is the driver door module (DDM) that actually sets the DTC. The DDSA contains a microprocessor which takes the signal generated by the switch and assigns a digital message to the switch signal. The DDSA then sends this message over the power door serial data line to the DDM.
CONDITIONS FOR RUNNING THE DTC
The DDM and the DDSA must be powered.
CONDITIONS FOR SETTING THE DTC
If the driver door switch assembly (DDSA) reports to the driver door module (DDM) that the switch is closed for more than 30 continuous seconds, the DDM sets this DTC.
ACTION TAKEN WHEN THE DTC SETS
When this DTC is current, the DDM shall act on the rising edge of the switch input as normal (no action).
CONDITIONS FOR CLEARING THE DTC
The DDM clears this DTC when the switch message status changes.
