Hinge Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid

Removal Procedure





1. Open the rear compartment lid.
2. Remove the rear compartment lid. Refer to Compartment Lid Replacement - Rear (Compartment Lid Replacement - Rear).
3. Remove the rear shelf trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Window Shelf (Service and Repair) in Interior Trim.
4. Remove the torque rods Refer to Torque Rod Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid (Service and Repair).
5. Remove the fasteners (1) securing the forward edge of the rear compartment lid hinge (3) to the vehicle.
6. Remove the fasteners (2) securing the rear edge of the rear compartment lid hinge (3) to the vehicle.
7. Remove the rear compartment lid hinge.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the rear compartment lid hinge.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the fasteners (1) in order to secure the forward edge of the rear compartment lid hinge (3) to the vehicle.

Tighten the fasteners to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

3. Install the fasteners (2) in order to secure the rear edge of the rear compartment lid hinge (3) to the vehicle.

Tighten the fasteners to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).





4. Install the torque rods. Refer to Torque Rod Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid (Service and Repair).
5. Install the rear compartment lid. Refer to Compartment Lid Replacement - Rear (Compartment Lid Replacement - Rear).
6. Check and adjust the rear compartment. Refer to Compartment Lid Adjustment - Rear (Adjustments).
7. Install the rear shelf panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Window Shelf (Service and Repair).
8. Close the rear compartment lid.
