Trim Plate Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Accessory Right (LHD)

Removal Procedure





Caution: Refer to SIR Caution.
1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3 and SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 5.
2. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) upper trim pad. Refer to Trim Pad Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Upper (Service and Repair).
3. Remove the I/P cluster trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Cluster (Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) - Trim Panel Replacement).
4. Remove the screws from the accessory trim panel.
5. Remove the PSIR module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Instrument Panel Module Replacement.




6. Remove the two screws from the straps at the carrier.
7. Pull rearward on the trim panel in order to disengage the three retainers, and remove the trim plate.



Installation Procedure





1. Align the trim panel with the I/P retainer.
2. Push forward on the trim plate in order to engage the three retainers, while aligning the A/C housing with the A/C ducts.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

3. Install the screws to the accessory trim panel.

Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).





4. Install the screws through the straps to the carrier.

Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

5. Install the I/P cluster trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Cluster (Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) - Trim Panel Replacement).
6. Install the PSIR module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Instrument Panel Module Replacement.
7. Install the I/P upper trim pad. Refer to Trim Pad Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Upper (Service and Repair).
8. Enable the SIR. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3 and SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 5.
