Defroster Grille Replacement

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to SIR Caution.
1. Disable the SIR. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3 and SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 5.




2. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) upper trim panel. Refer to Trim Pad Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Upper (Service and Repair).
3. Remove the fasteners (2) that secure the defroster grille to the I/P carrier.
4. Partially remove the defroster grille in order to disconnect the sunload sensors from the defroster grille. Refer to Sunload and Twilight Sentinel Sensor Replacement.
5. Remove the defroster grille (3).



Installation Procedure





1. Connect the electrical connectors and install the sunload sensors to the defroster grille. Refer to Sunload and Twilight Sentinel Sensor Replacement.
2. Align the defroster grille (3) with the I/P carrier.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

3. Install the defroster grille fasteners (2).

Tighten the defroster grille fasteners to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

4. Install the I/P upper trim panel. Refer to Trim Pad Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Upper (Service and Repair).
5. Enable the SIR. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3 and SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 5.
