HVAC Control Module Replacement

HVAC CONTROL MODULE REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the instrument panel center trim plate.
2. Remove the console trim plate.
3. Remove the HVAC control module bracket fasteners.
4. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the HVAC control module and the radio.




5. Remove the HVAC control module and the radio.




6. Remove the HVAC control module retaining nuts.
7. Remove the HVAC control module from the bracket.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the HVAC control module to the bracket.
2. Install the HVAC control module retaining nuts.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten
Tighten the nuts to 10 N.m (88 lb in).




3. Connect the electrical connectors to the HVAC control module and the radio.

IMPORTANT: The ignition must be in the OFF position when connecting the electrical connectors to ensure proper actuator calibration.

4. Install the HVAC control module and radio to the vehicle.




5. Install the HVAC control module bracket fasteners.
6. Install the console trim plate.
7. Install the instrument panel center trim panel.
8. Start the vehicle and let run for one minute.

IMPORTANT: Do not adjust any controls on the HVAC control module while the HVAC control module is self-calibrating. If interrupted improper HVAC performance will result. The engine must be running for proper calibration to occur.
