Scan Tool Data Definitions Part 2

Odometer: The scan tool range is 0-1,677,722. This parameter indicates the actual vehicle miles stored in the powertrain control module (PCM).

PCM / VCM in VTD Fail Enable: The scan tool will display Yes or No. This will indicate that the powertrain control module (PCM) has received the correct password from the passlock(R) module and a failure has occurred. The PCM will continue to enable fuel.

Powertrain Induced Chassis Pitch Command: The scan tool displays Active or Inactive.

Short Term FT Avg Bn 1: The scan tool range is -99 to +99 percent. This parameter indicates the average Short Term FT correction for bank 1 calculated by the powertrain control module (PCM) during the current ignition cycle.

Short Term FT Avg Bn 2: The scan tool range is -99 to +99 percent. This parameter indicates the average Short Term FT correction for bank 2 calculated by the powertrain control module (PCM) during the current ignition cycle.

Short Term FT Bank 1: The scan tool range is -99 to +99 percent. This parameter indicates the Short Term FT correction for bank 1 as commanded by the powertrain control module (PCM).

Short Term FT Bank 2: The scan tool range is -99 to +99 percent. This parameter indicates the Short Term FT correction for bank 2 as commanded by the powertrain control module (PCM).

Spark: The scan tool range is 0-64 degrees. This parameter indicates the amount of spark advance commanded by the powertrain control module (PCM).

Start-up ECT: The scan tool range is -40 to +150°C (-40 to +302°F). This parameter indicates the engine coolant temperature (ECT) at start-up.

Start-up IAT: The scan tool range is -40 to +150°C (-40 to +302°F). This parameter indicates the ambient air temperature at start-up.

Starter Relay Command: The scan tool displays ON or OFF. This parameter indicates the powertrain control module (PCM) commanded state of the starter relay control circuit.

TCC Brake Pedal Switch: The scan tool displays Applied or Released. This parameter indicates the torque converter clutch (TCC) brake switch input to the powertrain control module (PCM).

TCC Duty Cycle: The scan tool range is 0-100 percent. This display indicates the commanded percent of torque converter clutch (TCC) pulse width modulation (PWM) solenoid ON time. A display of 90 percent represents a fully energized commanded state. A display of 0 percent represents a de-energized commanded state.

TCC Enable Solenoid Command: The scan tool displays On / off. This display indicates the commanded state of the torque converter clutch (TCC) solenoid.

TFP Sw.: The scan tool displays Park/Neutral, Reverse, Drive, or Invalid. This display indicates the decoded status of the two A/B inputs from the automatic transmission fluid pressure manual valve position switch.

TP Sensor: The scan tool range is 0-100 percent. This parameter indicates the throttle angle calculated by the powertrain control module (PCM) from the throttle position (TP) sensor voltage input.

TP Sensor: The scan tool range is 0-5 volts. This parameter indicates the throttle position (TP) sensor voltage input to the powertrain control module (PCM).

Torque Delivered Signal: The scan tool displays 0-100 percent. This display indicates the amount of available engine torque.

Torque Request Signal: The scan tool displays 0-100 percent. This parameter indicates the amount of torque requested by the EBTCM.

Traction Control Status: The scan tool display Active / Inactive. This parameter indicates the status of the traction control system.

Trans. Fluid Temp.: The scan tool range is -40 to +150°C (-40 to +302°F). This display indicates the temperature of the transmission fluid.

Vehicle Speed Sensor: The scan tool range is 0-255 km/h (0-158 mph). This parameter indicates the vehicle speed calculated by the powertrain control module (PCM) from the vehicle speed sensor (VSS).

VTD Auto Learn Timer: The scan tool indicates ACTIVE or INACTIVE. This parameter indicates the status of the vehicle theft deterrent system password learn.

VTD Fuel Disable: The scan tool displays Active or Inactive. This parameter indicates the status of the theft deterrent fuel disable command.

VTD Password: The scan tool displays OK or Incorrect. This parameter indicates the validity of the vehicle theft deterrent (VTD) password.

Warm-ups W/O Emission Faults: The scan tool displays counts. This display indicates the number of warm-up cycles without an emission failure.

Warm-ups w/o Non-Emission Faults: The scan tool displays counts. This display indicates the number of warm-up cycles without a non-emission failure.
