Multifunction, Turn Signal Switch Replacement (LHD)

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in Service Precautions.

1. Disable the SIR system.
2. Remove the steering column trim covers.





3. Remove the steering column wire harness tie straps.





4. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the steering column control module.

Important: Note the direction that the wiring harness is routed in the shield for re-installation.





5. Open the wire harness shield (1) on the lower steering column and remove the wire harness (2).





6. Disconnect the multifunction switch electrical connectors (1,2,3).





7. Remove the multifunction switch retaining screws.





8. Remove the multifunction switch (1).

Installation Procedure

Important: The electrical contact must rest on the turn signal cancel cam assembly.





1. Install the multifunction switch (1).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





2. Install the multifunction switch retaining screws.
Tighten the screws to 7 Nm (62 inch lbs.).





3. Connect the multifunction switch electrical connectors (1,2,3).





4. Install the wire harness (2) to the wire harness shield (1) on the lower steering column.





5. Connect the control module electrical connectors.





6. Install the steering column wire harness tie straps.
7. Install the steering column trim covers.
8. Enable the SIR system.
