DTC B3794

Circuit Description

The body control module (BCM) monitors the cruise control set/coast and resume/accel switch signal circuit in order to detect when the driver has requested a cruise control switch function. The BCM determines which cruise control switch function is being requested based on a predetermined voltage signal from the cruise control switch.

This diagnostic procedure supports the following DTC:

Conditions for Running the DTC
^ The cruise control On/Off switch is ON.
^ The engine is ON.

Conditions for Setting the DTC
^ The BCM detects an invalid voltage signal on the cruise control set/coast and resume/accel switch signal circuit.
^ The above condition is present for 1 second.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets
^ The malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) will not illuminate.
^ The BCM stores the DTC information into memory when the diagnostic runs and fails.
^ The Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) System is disabled.
^ Cruise Not Ready indicator displays in the driver information center (DIC).

Conditions for Clearing the DTC
^ The DTC becomes history when the fault is no longer present.
^ A History DTC clears after 100 malfunction free ignition cycles.
^ The BCM module receives a clear code command from the scan tool.
